The purpose of this course is to increase our understanding of the Earth’s physical and cultural geographic features and how they interact. The ultimate goal is to increase our ecological literacy -- an understanding of the interconnectedness of the biosphere, our major environmental challenges along with their causes and creative solutions.
 

A secondary goal is for students to have the opportunity to explore potential professional career options in the field of geography. Lastly, we will foster and develop healthy community interaction skills throughout our time together. The problems facing our planet will not be solved by individuals, but by collaboration. Your academic requirements will involve several small assignments, unit tests and a final assessment in the form of a project or exam.
